Pharmacies in Mallorca: Find One Open Now or On Duty
Looking for a pharmacy in Palma or elsewhere in Mallorca? Start with the official pharmacy listings, then check the address, opening arrangements and telephone number before travelling. A map result can help you plan the journey, but an old listing should not be your only check.
Find a pharmacy open now
The Balearic Islands' official pharmacists' college, COFIB, provides an open-pharmacy finder, a duty-pharmacy listing and a general pharmacy directory.
Use the location where you are staying, whether that is Palma, Bendinat, Portals Nous, Santa Ponsa, Peguera, Andratx or another part of the island. Check the current listing rather than relying on a pharmacy name saved during a previous trip.
Useful Spanish labels include farmacia(pharmacy), farmacias abiertas(open pharmacies) and farmacia de guardia(duty pharmacy). These can help when reading local listings or asking your accommodation team for directions.
Late evenings, Sundays and public holidays
For out-of-hours access, consult the COFIB duty listing. Check the date and read the arrangements shown for that pharmacy. A duty listing does not mean every pharmacy is open continuously or that every medicine is available.
Before setting off, call to confirm access and ask about the item you need. Give your exact area if you are asking someone else to help you locate a pharmacy. We do not maintain a fixed list of “always open” pharmacies because opening arrangements can change.
If you have a prescription from abroad
EU guidance provides for recognition of prescriptions issued in another EU country, with dispensing subject to local rules and medicine availability. Electronic prescriptions may need additional arrangements. Check your particular prescription with the pharmacist; do not assume a prescription from any country, including the UK or USA, can automatically be dispensed. See Your Europe's prescription guidance.
Have your prescription and the medicine's original packaging or a clear medication list available for the pharmacist to review. Ask what documentation is needed before making a journey solely to collect it.
When you need a medical consultation
If your enquiry needs a doctor's assessment, you can request a consultation with an English-speaking doctor in Mallorca. Dr. Indhira Ghyssaert welcomes residents and international visitors, with consultations in English and German. Availability and fees are confirmed on request. A consultation request does not guarantee a prescription or a particular treatment.
If travelling to the clinic is difficult, ask about doctor home visits in Mallorca. Home visits are available throughout the island, subject to availability, suitability and confirmation of the appropriate care setting.
For a medical emergency, call 112. Do not wait for a routine website enquiry to be answered.
